A Moment of Naive Enthusiasm

Post by Corlyss_D » Tue Jun 20, 2006 1:18 pm

Ghana soccer player John Pantsil caused a lot of consternation with the way he chose to celebrate a goal. Not politically correct, don't you know. So the Ghana government apologized to all living and dead and explained that he was just naively trying to thank all his Israeli supporters who traveled to the world cup to see him play, completely unaware of the implications of his action. Whatever.

There shouldn't be any implications. He's an athlete, not a government official.

Believe it or not, I'm going to be in Nuremberg on Thursday when the US is playing Ghana. Everyone thinks I'm nuts for not wanting to get a ticket, but as I have said before I'll be lucky to get out of there alive on Friday morning and that's all I really care about.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.
