My Biggest-Ever pizza delievery order

We're having a big party in the community room of my condo building the night before the wedding for the immediate families, best man, maid of honor (that's the extent of the wedding party) and all of the out-of-town guests (most Maura's guests since most of mine are local).

I've always loved ordering for large groups, but I've never had the chance to do so for about 75 people. I was in my element, so to speak .

Nothing like dropping around $900 on hoagies and pizza over the phone . I could have saved a couple hundred, but I decided to go with quality over the best deal available. The guests had better like this stuff!

This brings to mind malt and milkshake shops of old. Boy, do I miss those places where you could sit down order a variety of different malts or shakes and they'd make it before your eyes rather than have it ooze out from some vat.

You pay for quality that's for sure.

Those types of places certainly aren't nearly as prevalent as they used to be, but there are more out there than you'd imagine. The ones in pharmacies are rare; but not fully extinct yet. But there are a lot of fifties theme restaurants with soda fountains and all kinds of shakes and malts out there.

As far as ice cream goes, I need to get to Milwaukee at some point. They seem to be the genuine frozen custard (as opposed to soft ice cream that's called frozen custard) capital of the country.
