My debut solo recital! Tomorrow in Toronto!! Please come!

Post by tsunami » Wed Feb 21, 2007 8:42 pm

A Night of Mediterranean Songs
February 22, 2007 7:30PM (Doors open 6:30PM)
Haliconian Hall
35 Hazelton Ave.

Please come out and enjoy some wonderful music in Italian, Spanish, German, French, and English! (there's even a sixth language in store for an encore!)

Program: The program theme surrounds the Mediterranean, hence the title. Even though I will be singing in German, this Italian Songbook it is actually a translation of Italian poems about the lives of lovers. The beautiful Spanish melodies of Bizet, reminds you of his Opera Carmen also sung in French. My Italian section are songs of unrequited love. The Spanish songs consist of lovely folk tunes and in Granados' Grieving Widow, you can really feel the passion! Also in the program, is Bernstein's I hate music - a cycle of five kid songs for soprano to lighten the atmosphere.

There will be refreshments and snacks at the end of the recital!

Tickets: Tickets are $20 Adults; $10 Students/Seniors and can be purchased from 6:30PM the day of the performance or in advance through my sponsor "Silk N Couture" at 180 Spadina Ave, north of Queen Street. (Please call 416-504-3962 to make sure tickets are still available there)

Directions: If you are taking the subway, please get off at Bay Station. The closest exit is Cumberland Street. When you exit, cross the street and keep walking straight. There is a walk way and that will lead you directly to Hazelton Ave. Haliconian Hall is a little north of Scollard Street.
If you are driving, take 404/Don Valley south to the Bloor/Bayview exit. Proceed west, then turn right (north) on Avenue. Take Cumberland Street east to Bellair Street and turn left (west) onto Yorkville Avenue .

Visit my website for more details regarding the recital: http://tsuching.com

Please help me spread the news and tell everyone!!!

I hope to see you all at my recital. This is very special to me as it is my first big production, so please make the time to come out and support me. =)

I wish you all a wonderful day!

Sincerely,

Tsu-Ching

Welcome to the forum, Tsu-Ching. Best of luck with your recital. We have a few Canadians here who might not have heard of your recital otherwise.

Welcome! Wish I could attend but Toronto is too far away.

All best wishes and good luck!

Alas, tsunami, we'll be in Toronto ... next fall  It's a lovely, lovely great city and I wish you all the best with this performance. It sounds delicious!

Dear Tsu-Ching:

Good luck with your recital. You will probably read this after you're recital and if that's the case, I hope it was everything you expected and anticipated. I get to Toronto from time-to-time, but, unfortunately, could not be there on this date.

Welcome to CMG. We hope you will become a regular visitor to our site. Please let us know how your recital went.

Wear Pampers, and imbibe just before with a goodly portion of single malt Scotch.

Break a leg!
