My Dream Concert is a Reality!!

Post by Steinway » Tue Jan 12, 2010 2:36 pm

I just got tickets to a concert of the NY Philharmonic, which includes my favorite Piano Concerto, the Brahms D Minor and one of my all-time 20th Century Symphonies, the E Flat by Paul Hindemith. I've been watching for years to see a performance or a new recording of this marvelous work and now it's become a reality!!

The pianist is Andras Schiff in the Brahms and the conductor is Riccardo Muti.

I wish everyone in the New York area could join me for this event, on Monday, March 8th, at 7:30 P.M.

I'm really excited!

Well, Harris, we'll be hearing the same program, but unfortunately not at the same time - we'll be at the first performance, on the 4th.

BTW - did you note a rare thing in a Philharmonic series - a solo recital by Schiff on that Saturday, the 8th. Interesting program, too.

Enjoy - at least by the time you hear the program, they'll know it(!)

The Brahms I could do without, but I am sure Schiff will do a fine job. The Hindemith... now that would be worth it all. One of my favorites and not all that often seen on concert programs.

Give us a review if you can!

Werner..

I did notice the recital. I'm sorry I will miss you but couldn't get back into the city until Monday of that week.

Enjoy. I hope you'll like the Hindemith as much as I do. :)

Best regards.
