Off to an organ convention
Since it's rare for me to go two days without posting anything, I wanted you to know that from tomorrow through Friday I'll be at the Organ Historical Society Convention in Philadelphia. I'm not bringing my laptop. I may post from the business center, but they keep us so busy (from 8:00 in the morning to 9:00 at night, with breaks only for meals) that it will be all I can do to manage an online check-in for my return flight.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

Re: Off to an organ convention
The entire time (driving to Albany, getting to the airport early, the one-hour flight to Philadelphia, getting a shuttle to the hotel) is about the same, but I don't need the stress of driving into a big city I don't really know. Besides, they bus us everywhere, so there's no need for one's own wheels while in the city. I did drive to the one in Pittsburgh several years ago. It was like driving the two legs of a right triangle without being able to take the shortcut of the hypotenuse, but there is no direct flight from Albany to Pittsburgh.lennygoran wrote:jbuck919 wrote:Since it's rare for me to go two days without posting anything, I wanted you to know that from tomorrow through Friday I'll be at the Organ Historical Society Convention in Philadelphia. John, I see that you'll be visiting Verizon Hall in the Kimmel Center on Monday evening.

Will this be your first time at that venue? I'd be interested in your impressions when you get back.

I am back, and I will include my report on the Kimmel Center concert in a trip report to appear on the music board. There is a lot to say about the whole trip, and for once I am going to have to create it in Open Office and then paste it here.Ricordanza wrote:John, I see that you'll be visiting Verizon Hall in the Kimmel Center on Monday evening.
