I found 3 Nessun Dormas sung by Aretha Franklin on YouTube. IMHO, this is by far the best.

Only someone as great as Aretha Franklin could get away with this. It is, of course, completely inappropriate for a female singer.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

Thanks.
I didn't know she Studied at Juilliard. "It’s obvious that the woman is talented, but did you know she studied at Juilliard? She studied classical piano while she was there, and she graduated in 1998. Before she was at Juilliard, she taught herself how to play piano." Regards, Len

Horrid. And I can't get along with women who claim themselves operatic using a microphone.

Check out the Scorsese/Hitchcock short that heavily influenced it.

The Key to Reserva, a 2007 film short by Martin Scorsese (based on fragments of a film Alfred Hitchcock never made)

The music is by one of my favorite composers, Bernard Herrmann and it is from the soundtrack of one of my favorite flicks. North by Northwest. I believe Herrmann himself led the MGM studio orchestra in the 1959 film, and in his hommage, Scorsese simply used snippets from that ST.

Thanks, I would certainly go to this if they ever did it in the NYC area-I was reading about its history at wiki-what if Gelb decided to finally do this work instead of the one coming up this season Marnie! Regards, Len [pipe dreaming]

Composer Nico Muhly unveils his second new opera for the Met with this gripping reimagining of Winston Graham’s novel, set in the 1950s, about a beautiful, mysterious young woman who assumes multiple identities. Director Michael Mayer and his creative team have devised a fast-moving, cinematic world for this exhilarating story of denial and deceit, which also inspired a film by Alfred Hitchcock. Mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard sings the enigmatic Marnie, and baritone Christopher Maltman is the man who pursues her—with disastrous results. Robert Spano conducts.

Commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera

We'll be there-hope it proves to be a wise choice-we didn't go to his Two Boys and I'm sort of regretting that now. Regards, Len
