As an aside, I believe it was Harold Schoenberg , in his 1963 book "The Great Pianists", who remarked that Kalkbrenner had offered to teach the young Chopin, but that Chopin fortunately decided to go elsewhere.

US Congressperson Marjorie Greene has introduced a bill in the House to award Rittenhouse a Congressional Gold Medal. She voted against doing so for the Capitol officers who defended on Jan. 6. So far it does not appear anyone in GOP leadership opposes the bill.
