Piano music of Tigran Chukhajian (1837-1898)

For some reason, this Grand Piano CD [859, 71:38] took a long time getting to me. Upon looking at this Armenian composer's birth/death dates, this is my beloved time frame for music though, of course, it embraces the entire Baroque period through the mid-20th century or so. The pianist, Mikael Ayrapetyan, has seemingly made a specialty of Armenian music and he has recorded quite a bit of it for the Grand Piano label. The recording itself was made in Moscow, Russia on April 30th, 2019 on a Steinway concert grand (probably Hamburg) that has a sumptuous tone. Ayrapetyan is quite a pianist in this repertoire and is Armenian himself with an excellent biography. If you are looking for something new/different/enjoyable, give this one a try.

When she started to play, Mr. Steinway came down and personally
rubbed his name off the piano. [Speaking about pianist &*$#@+#]
