Re: Johan Dalene Violin Recital: Sweden 2021
Many thanks for the YT link.
A memorable performance of the Prokofieff ,wonderful transparency and interplay. My first hearing of the composer Kaan Bulak, his gorgeous 10-minute Violin Sonata quite striking. The Boulanger encore great as well. I did not hear the Ravel or Sibelius. Great recital.

More wonderful playing from Dalene, the great Poulenc Violin Sonata:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0018yp7
From BBC : “ BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist, Johan Dalene, performs two major violin sonatas with pianist Charles Owen, live from the Pittville Pump Room in Cheltenham (July 14,2022 ). Poulenc’s sonata was composed in Nazi occupied France and exudes rage, tragedy and profound sadness. He dedicated it to the murdered Spanish poet, Federico García Lorca. Grieg’s third sonata was the composer’s favourite, and he performed it often. The two urgent outer movements frame a meltingly beautiful middle section. Johan and Charles also perform Boulanger’s miniature evocation of a spring morning; full of restless, vibrant energy. Presented live by Ian Skelly.”
Francis Poulenc: Violin Sonata
Lili Boulanger: D’un Matin de Printemps
Edvard Grieg: Violin Sonata No. 3 in C minor, op 45
Johan Dalene, violin
Charles Owen, piano
I heard only the Poulenc.

Dalene plays the Barber VC at 2022 Proms with BBC Symphony Orchestra under Jordan de Souza:

Audience applause after each mov. Encore was the final mov. of Ysaye’s 4th Sonata, interrupted with applause.

Re: Johan Dalene Violin Recital: Sweden 2021
Again, many thanks! Barber quite good, and I'm very much in favor of audience enthusiasm. Certainly better attended than 25%.Rach3 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 3:10 pmDalene plays the Barber VC at 2022 Proms with BBC Symphony Orchestra under Jordan de Souza:

Re: Johan Dalene Violin Recital: Sweden 2021
And here Dalene is, again in 2021, live with the Bergen Phil. under John Gardner playing the magnificent Nielsen Violin Concerto live, a real tour de force musically and technically for all concerned, perhaps its challenges a reason not heard more often ( I think ) , as certainly on par with the ubiquitous Mendelssohn,Paganini and Tchaikovsky:
