There's nothing "late" about Bill Maher's comments. Those of us who follow him know that he has been a critic of the left's foibles and excesses for years. However, he has maintained his support for core liberal values throughout.

Those on the right who are cheering Bill Maher ought to look in the mirror. Do they speak out when right wingers burn books and threaten witnesses? Do they say publicly that Donald Trump is the leader of a cult of personality that has nothing in common with conservative values such as personal responsibility and respect for tradition?
