The Elites failing society!!

Post by Belle » Wed Aug 17, 2022 5:16 pm

This is about the UK but you could easily transpose it to the USA, Canada and Australia. The obsession with the climate cult, savage repression and lockdown during Covid and elitist groupthink have all taken their toll on the UK economy - and much of this will apply in the USA. (Hint: it's one of the reasons you got Trump.)

The people welcomed the shutting down of business (and life in general) during Covid and the police state which ensued in Australia by state governments, which went on to be rewarded by the voters at subsequent elections. And these same people are hypocritical enough to criticize our former PM for assuming more authoritarianism would be fine with the people. A bit of soul-searching required here. Our Labor Party called for more lockdowns and more money for the people who couldn't work as a result. What a total beat-up it all was and how it encouraged dictatorship.

Again, democratic nations get the governments they deserve. Our ABC in Australia cheered on the lockdown; how easy it all was for people on high-paying taxpayer-funded full-time employment!! One and the same cohort which advocates for 'ak-shun' on climate change, neither knowing nor caring how energy costs will affect ordinary people. I suspect these cudgels will be taken up by the Coalition in opposition, now that it reflects more of a working class world view - the prerogative of the Labor Party, once upon a time.

A very interesting and ironic aside about 'the elites' is that the wealthiest seats in the Australian national parliament recently went to 'independents' (we refer to them as "teals" - as they were funded by a billionaire renewables investor). Now that this cohort has exposed itself by not supporting the government which traditionally had its back - shielding it against excessive tax hikes and the like - it will be interesting to watch them squirm as Labor goes after higher personal, trust and company taxes. Absolutely nobody will stop them! Surely a highly amusing, unintended consequence. Watch this space!!

And if you think they've all got so much money they care more about climate than tax I've two words for you: CAYMAN ISLANDS.
