Emirates retro-fits A380s - plans flying them for 20 more years

So the A380 was destined for the aircraft graveyard!!? During Covid its future looked bleak but it just happens that passengers absolutely love this huge jet. What's not to love??!

Emirates is eating the international competition whole and this little video from 'avgeek' Sam Chui demonstrates the huge investment Emirates is making in its A380 fleet. It's staggering what they're doing - and how they're turning used seating materials into useful fashion items like handbags, shoes and backpacks!! Employing many thousands of workers, Emirates has huge overheads and the cost of airfares is cheap when you consider this and the detailed regime of rigorous inspection which they regularly undertake. No stone is left unturned.

The cost of an Emirates airfare for myself and spouse would be $A22,000 Business class return from Sydney to Europe. Ridiculously cheap for what you get. Economy is an absolute snip, it's so cheap.

The company can only be making profits from the sheer volume of seats sold across all the four classes: economy, premium economy, business and first.
