It appears that it's not just Australia that would like government policies regarding Covid measures examined. The sad thing is it goes way beyond Fauci as the responses of individual states also needs to be examined but that's another story.

What does suprise me is the number of Republicans on this panel. Does the US have a system to examine these measures that doesn't involve politicians? If not, can you trust the end results?

The House is controlled by GOP , thus the number.The GOP panel head:

Not sure, but I believe the NHI, CDC and FDA have all been investigating, but of course any conclusions they drew so far the GOP did not like would be an excuse for GOP to support launch of another witch hunt.The conclusion of this latest GOP-backed effort is probably predictable: Fauci and NHI funded creation of the specific COVID virus which then accidentally escaped the lab or was purposely released by NHI to test the virus' gain-of - function, and that Fauci has lied about those facts ever since.Since MTG is one the GOP panel,perhaps the panel will also find Jewish space lasers were also involved and George Soros helped fund the Chinese lab.

Over 1.2M US deaths alone to COVID, plus huge numbers of surviving people afflicted with " long COVCID" ,plus many, many more who went thru a miserable,scary 10+ day illness even if fully recovered (me), a health system burned out by case load care, huge resulting increases the US budget deficits, yet opposition to good-faith mandates several of which were spot-on and resistance to vaccines, even now according to a recent Axios story only 15 % of the US population fully vaccinated thru the latest recommended boosters.

It's called the United States Public Health Service, which is a branch of the Department of Health and Human Services. What you're seeing in this article is an attempt by politicians to meddle in their decisions.
