The celebrated flick "Cinema Paradiso" (1988): saw it last nite. Spooky experience. The subs were way out of sync but I could understand the meaning anyway, if not the individual words. The film is mostly in Sicilian, not Italian. which I am told was my first language — in that my live-in, caregiver grandmother spoke only Sicilian.
Recently also saw Terrence Malick's "Days of Heaven" and Luis Bunuel's "An Obscure Object of Desire".
All three are wonderfully heartfelt films.
