Screening this one again after a couple years.
In my opinion, it has most intense battle scenes of any film since Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan. My students were transfixed by them. Brad Pitt basically reprises the role he played in Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds.
The battles used authentic M4 Sherman tanks and the last working German Tiger 131 tank known to exist.

Yes, a good flick. The real Tiger tank was a nice touch!

Re: Fury (2014)
A student recommended this flick to me in 2021 after 1917 basically bombed with the class, politely but restlessly. Interesting to learn what kids do and don't, can and can't relate to, b/c I thought 1917 was very good. But the tension in the room yesterday during Fury's depiction of the murder of a German POW, followed by Americans threatening to rape two German women was palpable.david johnson wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 5:35 amYes, a good flick.
