Wow! I have both the Barshai and Rubio recordings. This is a wonderful, inexpensive opportunity for those bereft of fine Shostakovich performances.

It is interesting to observe that since BRILLIANT has become such a popular label among collectors that they have seriously cleaned up much of their technical work. Some of the early big-box productions were poorly remastered, but now everything is vastly improved. Even the artwork is looking 100% better.
